Job Description
Requirements:
A degree or equivalent in engineering, science, mathematics
Expected to have CCIE/CCNP certifications with 7 or more years of progressive experience with major SIs or enterprise customers
Extensive experience in designing, implementing, operating and optimizing large converged network (LAN & WAN), Data Centre network and network security.
Experience in enterprise switching equipment from Cisco, HP, Other.
Experience in installation, administration, tuning and optimisation of WiFi networks, Firewalls, UTM, End point protection solutions
Experience in delivering solutions for video surveillance and security Experience in implementing redundancy and high availability at different layers
Solid understanding of TCP/IP, OSI Layers, various network and network security protocols.
Sound knowledge about new and emerging network and security products and technologies.
Experience in managing enterprise NOC and providing network L3 support
Certification/experience in ITIL processes
Roles:
With a focus on Data Networks and IT Security, perform the following:
Gather and analyze customer requirements and propose fit for purpose solutions in response. Ensure that the designs are robust, appropriate and of high quality, and aligned with RPTECH service offerings.
Ensure that the developed architecture/solution meets the service level requirements in terms of expected availability, capacity, continuity, security, performance and reliability.
Prepare accurate and detailed bill of materials and provide technical assistance during ordering and procurement.
Perform assigned activities (design, install, configure, deploy, test etc.) in project implementations, to agreed quality criteria, reporting progress in a timely manner and proactively dealing with issues to avoid escalation.
Ensure that assigned incidents are resolved within the agreed SLA’s and where applicable, workarounds are provided to minimize customer business impact, problems are analyzed for root cause and changes are owned and managed to ensure least impact on the customer business
Support pre sales in the bid preparation and response phases, providing technical information and content, backed by well researched market information, suitable selection of OEM solutions, designs, sizing etc.
Provide guidance and context to project managers and other team members during planning, estimation, execution and support phases
Document all solutions proposals, implementation and support procedures to agreed level of detail and adhering to standards.
Lead/Manage small teams on an on-going basis and backup for line manager in his/her absence
