Job Description
- Establishing networking environment by designing system configuration, directing system installation, defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.
- Maximizing network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades, collaborating with network architects on network optimization.
- Securing network system by establishing and enforcing policies, defining and monitoring access.
- Accomplishing information systems and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- Reporting network operational status by gathering, prioritizing information, managing projects.
- Designing and implements all Local and wide area (LAN and WAN) networks.
- Anticipating communication and networking problems and implements preventive measures.
- Rectifying (triple shooting) different types of networking (LAN and WAN) problems.
- Dealing with all networking related complaints, such as setting configuration of share and/or networking printers and providing LAN access for new users etc.
- Configuring different types of networking equipment such as firewall, routers, modems, access points, switches etc.
- Monitoring WAN and LAN connections as well as ability to monitor ADSL and lease lines.
- Troubleshooting networks, systems and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational difficulties.
- Investigating user networking problems, identifies their source, determines possible solutions, tests and implements solutions.
- Performing and coordinates software and application installation and upgrades.
- Planning and implements network security, including building firewalls, applying cryptography to network applications, managing host security, file permissions, backup and disaster recovery plans, file system integrity and adding & deleting users.
- Imparting training to key & end users on the usage of various relevant hardware.
- Ensuring timely user notification of maintenance requirements and effects on system availability.
- Maintaining confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed by the network.
- Apart from this any other duties and responsibilities related to your job / position can be added in the future by the line manager.
- Hands-on database tuning and troubleshooting experience.
- Excellent technical problem solving skills, including identifying and addressing performance problems, system defects, network issues, etc.
- Deep knowledge of structured cabling, OFC laying etc.
- Proven technical knowledge of desktop and server hardware.
- Strong IT skills.
- Fluent in English and Arabic.
